Carlanthano is designed to play like a HiFi. It many playmodes, including Normal, Shuffle, Categories, etc. You can display the elapsed or remaining time, skip to the last or next file, or skip to a certain position in a file. Modes such as shuffle and categories have extra options that you can customise, putting you in complete control.
You can store extra information about your files, such as the Artist and Album name. Carlanthano can even try to guess these for you, or read them from ID3 tags! You can also specify the location of a lyrics file, which can be automatically displayed when a file plays. The playlist can be sorted by these settings, and you can also search for files in the playlist.
You can also set which songs are your favorites and let them play more often. If some songs were recorded too loudly or softly, you can specify a custom playback volume for that song to match your other songs.
Carlanthano is also great for parties. Just decide how you want to categorise your songs: slow, medium, and fast; rock, dance, and rap; or 70s 80s and 90s hits. Enter the category for each song just like you do the artist and song titles. Then just tell Carlanthano how often you want each category to play, and viola! In just moments you have a playlist that is your music, blended in just the right amounts. If you get a request, you can set the song to be played next, regardless of the current playmode!
Carlanthano also has album management tools. Some of the tools include removing duplicate listings of the same file, or removing files that no longer exist on your hard drive. You can also ask Carlanthano to search a folder for multimedia files to add to the playlist.
Carlanthano also includes a very customisable interface, and has extensive error detection in dealing with unsupported file formats. All this leads to an uninterrupted, unattended, and a highly enjoyable playing of your multimedia collections.
